Why did I ever come out of the womb to see trouble and sorrow and to end my days in shame?

– Jeremiah 20:18 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

Jeremiah is venting to God. He feels that he has been abused and used in his ministry, because he has been appointed to call a nation hardened by sin back to God. Have you ever felt like your life is a waste? Jeremiah reminds us that there is a greater perspective than we may currently see. That God is using us in mighty ways that we will not know about until we can see from a heavenly perspective. So take strength! Your life is not in vain. Like Jeremiah, even though it may seem that nothing is happening, God is doing mighty things.
