Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.

– Psalm 24:3-4 (NIV)

We want to dictate how to come to God, but God sets the standards of how to approach Him, we don’t. We need clean hands and a pure heart, but if this is the case, who can stand? We all have stains from our thoughts and deeds and we need someone who can help us ascend to the hill of the Lord. Jesus Christ went to the hill of Golgotha and died on the cross so that we can stand in God’s holy place. Jesus is God’s provision to fulfill this standard, lift us up and see the world from God’s perspective.
