For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Luke 12:34
In this passage Jesus has just finished describing all that God has provided for us, including the Kingdom-eternal life. He finishes up by urging them to “invest” in this Kingdom, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Notice that Jesus did not say that we should put our treasures where our own hearts lead us to. He flips that around and teaches that when we put our treasures, our earthly possessions into Kingdom investments, our hearts will follow and go there too.
The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of the heart. Ask God where to invest your treasures and your heart will follow.
