When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the Lord, as prescribed by David king of Israel.

– Ezra 3:10 (NIV)

Music is one of the marks of spiritual renewal. Notice the order: the temple is finished, the priests are in place, and the musicians take their role. There is great power in music, for God has used music for centuries to bring people’s hearts toward Him. Sometimes we need to worship God with our minds, but there are many times when we need to worship God from our heart. Don’t miss one of the great tools that God gives us to live a full life — sing to the Lord and allow Him to renew your heart.
