We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. – Psalm 33:20-21 (NIV)
In a culture that values speed, the Bible stands with a counter culture statement: there are times we need to wait for the Lord. Many of us can point to times when we “made it happen”, but that does not apply to our relationship with God. When we take the time to wait upon the Lord a mystery occurs: our burden becomes lighter, our perspectives become clear. The illusion that we are in control is shattered before the One who is the beginning and the end. How about you? Are you willing to wait upon the Lord, or are you experiencing the anxiety of trying to control things that you can’t control anyway?
