We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. As a fair exchange-I speak as to my children-open wide your hearts also. – 2 Corinthians 6:11-13 (NIV)

Paul modeled radical honesty with those he was leading. Prior to this passage he talks of going hungry, being beaten, and dealing with discouragement. What a wonderful way to say to the Corinthians that they were not alone in their challenges. This example speaks to us today. Are we trying to be “super Christians”, or can we openly talk about the things that weigh upon our soul? God is waiting to fill our hearts with His power as we open up to each other.
