Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” – Luke 19:9-10 (NIV)
Zacchaeus was a Jewish man who had gained his fortune from collecting taxes for the Roman Empire. He was despised by the people because he was a traitor to the Jewish cause. Yet this was the type of man that Jesus was after. To walk with Jesus is to walk in his mission, for God wants to change the “Zacchaeus” of our day. How about you? Are you willing to seek and save what was lost? This has always been the mission of God.
