Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
– Psalm 9:10 (NIV)
Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
The Hebrew word used here for “know” is used in other places in the Bible as a phrase of intimacy-so intimate that a child is conceived. It is one thing to know about God, but to really know him intimately is different. Can we seek after God in such a way that our intimacy with Him brings trust and can even conceive new opportunities? This is what this psalm suggests.
