This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

We often talk of our love for God, but have we realized the great love of God toward us? Charles Spurgeon once wrote, “In looking back upon the character of our prayers, if we do it honestly, we shall be filled with wonder that God has ever answered them.” Our prayers are weak and our understanding is limited, yet God loves us so much that he upholds us with his patience. It is from this place of acceptance that we can love God fully, for we are his, and he demonstrates this everyday.
