Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

– Ephesians 6:13-15 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor,, Author of Making Sense of the Bible

We have been looking at the armor of God that has been given to every believer. The gospel, or the news that Jesus came to redeem back His creation through taking the place of our sins upon the cross, must be a part of our awareness in all that we do. When we keep this news in front of us we become sensitive to people around us who need to know this news. The gospel is on always moving, and part of our battle against Satan is to be ready to move wherever we see opportunities to live in gospel truth.
