Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

– Mark 11:24 (NIV)

The magnitude of this statement makes many people nervous and others reckless. Yet Jesus tells us that when we pray with an assurance that God has already answered our prayer, our request is granted. People get confused about this promise when they try to manufacture that assurance-it is a gift from God that only He can give. So take your requests to God, but look to Him for the confidence. If you don’t have a divine confidence that your prayer is answered, keep praying. God is using the process of prayer to guide and mature you.
