The followers of Jesus were experiencing amazing displays of power; sick people were being healed and those tormented by evil spirits were being set free. Yet instead of rejoicing at these signs, the religious leaders were jealous. True revival not only captures people attention toward God; true revival also exposes the hypocrisies of religious systems. This pattern seems to mark the moments when people get serious about the things of God.
