“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Jesus promised his followers that they would be able to hear from God. How does this happen? Through a dynamic team: the Scripture and the Holy Spirit. God made sure that the words of Jesus would be captured for generations, then He released the power that would make those words come alive to us. Scripture alone is not enough, it takes the Holy Spirit to make the Bible living and active. And it is the Scripture that gives us the Holy Spirit the vocabulary to work with in our souls. The Spirit will remind us of all that Jesus said, so we need to study what Jesus said in the Scripture, then listen to what comes alive by the Holy Spirit.
