So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the Levitical priests, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. This was when the story of God went from an oral tradition to a written record. We are called to remember what God said, and many men and women have given their lives to make sure that what you and I are reading are the faithful manuscripts of Scripture. So don’t just coast on the spirituality of the leaders around you; dig into the source from which all of our life comes.
