Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’

– Ezekiel 33:11 (NIV)

Given the task of being a prophet at a time of turmoil in Israel, Ezekiel reveals an aspect of the heart of God—He loves His creation, but wickedness cannot remain in His presence. The God who sent Ezekiel to call Israel back to Himself sent the ultimate prophet, Jesus Christ, to call all of us to turn back to God. But Jesus was more than a prophet—He died for our wickedness, then He rose from the grave to offer new life to all who call upon the name of Jesus and turn from their wicked ways. This opportunity is made available to us today. Don’t miss it.
