Pharaoh said, “Lazy, that’s what you are-lazy! That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.’ – Exodus 5:17
This passage occurs as Moses is confronting the Pharaoh of Egypt to liberate the people of God from slavery. But as the Jews found, reforming a culture doesn’t come easily. Many times (if not most) lasting change is met with accusations and hardship. It can become much more challenging before that moment of breakthrough comes. Yet God’s promises stands sure and, like the Israelites, we need to brace ourselves for the long haul. Some promises are fulfilled in our lifetime, others will be fulfilled long after we are gone, but God’s word will not return void. He is faithful to do all that He promises!
