Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

– John 3:1-2 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

Nicodemus did not want to be seen with Jesus. He was a man of power and prestige, so he came at night. Yet there was a hunger for God, and when there is a hunger, Jesus was ready to fill him. Whether you can come to God in front of others or you are seeking in the night, Jesus is ready to offer you a new birth and new way of life. He was willing to change Nicodemus and He can change us today.
