Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

– Acts 6:8 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

We don’t know much about Stephen’s pedigree or education. What we do know is that he was found to be a faithful man and was given the task of caring for widows and the poor. Stephen eventually became such a force for God that the local religious leaders decided to kill him. Even as Stephen was stoned for his faith he was a witness to a zealous Saul of Tarsus, who would become the apostle Paul and change the known world with the gospel. Stephen reminds us that faithfulness in the little things can prepare us for much. Let God prepare you today!
