My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” – Job 42:5-6 (NIV)

When Job had an encounter with God, the first thing he became aware of was his sin. He realized that God’s holiness was far greater than anything Job could imagine. Due to the falleness of this earth, our eyes are cloudy – our ears are dull, but the Bible talks of a day when we will see God in a much greater way than Job did. God has promised that He will judge the living and the dead. The Bible exhorts us to live in such a way that we will be ready for that day.
