Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

– 1 Peter 2:12 (NIV)

To live a godly life is to be misunderstood. But what a wonderful misunderstanding. Godliness means being honest when a white lie could be more profitable. It may mean being personally disadvantaged so that others around you can prosper. This is a counter culture statement to those who don’t know God, and is rarely met with applause. But to live a godly life in front of others builds credibility and eventually a witness to God’s work on the earth.
