Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

– 2 Timothy 2:3-4 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

Memorial Day is a time to remember the sacrifice that men and women have given for their country. In the same way, God calls us to live in such a way that pleases our Great Commander. Let this holiday remind all of us that you and I are not called to live an “ordinary” life. There are great adventures that await those who are willing to endure hardship, and therefore, qualify for the prize.
