In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) and said, “Brothers and sisters, the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus. He was one of our number and shared in our ministry.”

– Acts 1:15-17 (NIV)

Think of Peter’s astounding statement — hundreds of years before Jesus was born King David spoke in the Psalms of the betrayal of Judas. In other words, nothing surprises God. At first, the disciples thought that Judas’ treachery was one of the worst things that could have happened to their budding rabbi. Now they realize that Judas was a part of God’s plan all along. Are there things that have happened to you that seem insurmountable? Know this: if God knew about Judas, He also knows about your situation. If he had a plan after Judas, He has a plan to get you through your setback as well.
