I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

– Psalm 34:4-5 (NIV)

Many people are gripped and even managed by their fear. Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of rejection, fear of losing control. Fear is a crippling force for many. Yet when we seek the LORD, he delivers us from fear—he takes away our shame. As we fight through our fear to pray to God, he has promised to meet us and turn our gloom to light. God’s perfect love can cast out all fear, and we can be delivered from the destructive claims about ourselves that try to cling to us and hamper our day to day lives.
