I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.

– Psalm 3:5-6 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

It is easy to be caught up with anxiety over the circumstances that surround us, yet King David lifts our perspective to a reality that has been in existence all along—God has always been our sustainer. This means that peace is available even in the direst situations, because if God sustained us in the past, he will do so again today. This is not ignoring our challenges, but seeing through them to the one who is greater than any obstacle that we face.
