I also learned that the portions assigned to the Levites had not been given to them, and that all the Levites and musicians responsible for the service had gone back to their own fields. So I rebuked the officials and asked them, “Why is the house of God neglected?” Then I called them together and stationed them at their posts.

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

One of the unnecessary stresses that pastors face is financial. God expects His people to be stewards of their local church, yet we shirk this holy responsibility. It is better to live on 90% of our income and fund the work of God’s kingdom than to live on 100% of our own abilities. Don’t neglect the house of God. Live generously and free those who are called to live from the gospel. You may find that God honors you in the process.
