The story of the outcast who is chosen to be King resonates with all of us. It tells us that our background is not a hindrance of God’s purposes for our life. If anything, our past is an integral part of how God wants to use us. David probably had no idea of how his shepherding skills would help him as king. In a similar way, God has plans for our life skills that we may have no reference for. So rejoice in your story, for this is God’s glory in action.
