For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. – 1 Peter 3:17 (NIV)

To live the gospel life can sometimes mean suffering. Honesty is an admirable trait – unless you work for a company where dishonesty is more profitable. Putting in a full days work is portrayed as noble, but others can be threatened by the performance of an employee who is exposing the apathy of a department. Peter reminds us that we are faced with choices everyday about how we will conduct our lives, and God is more pleased when we take the harder road than the path of convenience or consent.
