Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

This is one of the more confounding Scriptures in the Bible. Enoch, who was the grandson of Adam and Eve, knew God so intimately that when his time to die had come, God simply took him away. This is in contrast to all of his relatives recorded in this chapter who lived, then died. It seems that Enoch and God were so close that death was not allowed to come between them. This stands as an unusual witness of what is possible in a relationship with God.
