And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

– Genesis 1:3 (NIV)

Today’s commentary

It is interesting that this process has not stopped since God created the universe. The light from that moment is still traveling through the darkness of the universe. Yet that light is not just going outward; it is traveling through the darkness of our souls as well. Jesus proclaimed, “I am the light of the world.” So realize that when our hearts are exposed with all of it’s flaws, this is an act of love, for the same light that shines in our hearts also creates something new. This has been the nature of God from the beginning.
