God was telling Abraham that his son Isaac will be the child of promise, but Abraham wanted a blessing on his other son, Ishmael. We are like Abraham in many ways. We plead with God to bless our plans, and then get frustrated when we find out that God has something in mind that is totally different than what we created. Blessed are those who are able to lay down their agendas when they realize God’s agenda, for God works according to His purposes, not ours.
