All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all

– Acts 4:32-33 (NIV)

Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor,

It’s interesting to note that great power was released as people stopped claiming their own rights. The church was purchased by Jesus blood for His purposes, and the church flourishes when God’s people humble themselves and lay down their agendas for the sake of the gospel. Being relevant to the culture around us is important, but the great opportunity for the church today is live in such a way that we are empowered by the Spirit of God.
