We would think that the disciples would be at a disadvantage once Jesus left them, but that was not the case. Jesus had to return to heaven for the Holy Spirit to be released upon His people, so even though the clouds hid him from their sight, the disciples would soon experience the power of God in ways far more intimately than they ever did with Jesus on the earth. The risen Christ was God’s advance upon all humanity. Jesus went from our physical eyes to the eyes of our heart.
