A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

– Proverbs 6:10-11 (NIV)

We live in tough times, but it is the hand of the diligent that will overcome the obstacles that we face. God gives us a time to rest with the Sabbath; then He expects us to work hard the other days of the week. Laziness creates a blindness that does not see poverty coming. The media portrays talent as the best way to get ahead, but in the Bible prosperity is equated with consistent, focused efforts and not trying to get out of the responsibilities that life brings to us.
